How to choose: Sauna Systems
A sauna is a climate room where the timber and the heater must match. A Finnish sauna runs hot and dry; an infrared cabin runs cooler and heats by direct radiation. The timber species sets the scent, the touch temperature and the lifespan; heater power sets the heat-up time and comfort.
- Volume to power ratio
- Heater output is sized to room volume; an undersized heater never reaches temperature.
- Timber species
- Cedar, spruce and thermowood differ in scent, colour and moisture resistance.
- Insulation and vapour barrier
- Without a correct barrier moisture reaches the wall and the structure degrades.
- Ventilation
- The balance of fresh-air inlet and exhaust governs both comfort and safety.
